Personal Statement
I was first introduced to the sport of lacrosse at the age of four by my uncle Eric, who was the only lacrosse player in a football family. In third grade, I was the only player that volunteered to play goalie for my team. From a young age I have been fortunate enough to be part of an amazing youth program that taught me the importance of work-ethic, self-discipline, and working under stressful situations.
Winning the starting position on the junior varsity lacrosse team was the highlight of my freshman year. Even though the season did not go as we planned, my first season of high school lacrosse guided me in developing my leadership skills as a student, player, and teammate. I am not only looking for a program that will be a good fit for me academically, but one that will push me to be the best I can be. My confidence, character, and willingness to win will make me a great asset of your team.
I foresee my college years to be a personal growth period. My ambition is to explore a major that will position me well for life after college. On the field, I plan to be a powerful player and a positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college lacrosse career, I will strive to be an asset to the defense and the team as a whole. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with high character and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches, my parents and the school I attend.
