- I first picked up a stick when I was 7 years old and just fell in love with lacrosse. I became a goalie after one of my early coaches, Colin Doyle, sat the team down and talked to all of us about how each player can bring something special to the game, but every player needs to “find their game.” I found my game when I strapped on goalie gear and I have never looked back.
- I have played lots of games in many different sports over the years and have learned a lot from wins and from losses. I learned from the wins that hard work, dedication, teamwork and perseverance are critical for success. In 2017-2018 when my field and box lacrosse teams lost 3 provincial championship games in just over 12 months, I learned the importance of mental toughness and resiliency.
- As a Canadian with a strong box background, I am used to a fast-paced game driven by the shot clock. I read and react to in-tight shooters, control rebounds well, make quick outlet passes after my saves and fill the net to take advantage of my size. I know when to be patient and when to explode to the ball with my stick and body.
- I really stress my fundamentals in my training and have a strong game in all three key aspects of the goalie position. I am an elite ball stopper, communicate and run a defence well and have a great clearing game.
- I pride myself on being a great teammate and being coachable. I’m always open to feedback and proactively working with my coaches to take all aspects of my game to the next level.
- On the academic side, I am an high honour roll student at Canada’s leading boys prep school. I am looking for a school with high academic and athletic standards where I can continue pursuing my passion for lacrosse and my future in Marine/Conservation Biology.
