Personal Statement

My Name is Maddox Larner,

I have 7 years of Lacrosse experience, I played on my middle school team all three years, and all three years was a starter. Now I am a Freshman in HS and play on a club team for the first time.

In my Eighth Grade year, I was the leading scorer of my team with 30 Goals, I was also second on the team in assists with 14 and I also collected close to 40 ground balls throughout the season. I would split taking faceoffs with my teammate but when I took faceoffs I was very good close to a 90% win rate going 17/20. I was also the captain of our squad.

My goals for College are to go D1 but on the academic side, I would 100% play for and go to a D2 or D3 school.  The Sport of Lacrosse has changed my life for the better I've found a real connection to the sport and my teammates in and out of school.

For my club team this year (Iron Horse Houston) I played on the 2025 team although being 2026.

Freshman Year So Far 5 Games in:

For the last five games I have played a tremendous amount, I used to be on second line middy switching with the starter on the wing for each faceoff, but he got injured so now I release for the LSM and still rotate time with the other short stick middy.

In these 5 games, I have scored 2 times and I have 4 Assists, I have also forced many turnovers and have collected 10+ groundballs.

Something that sets me apart from other players is that I am all heart and hustle, I will give you 110 percent effort even if we are getting blown out.

Academically I'm an A- student, I have a 3.7 GPA and I'm taking two honors courses in Math (Algebra 2 Honors) and Spanish (2 Honors)

  • I went on a Lacrosse service trip sponsored by the Israel Lacrosse association and the Robert Kraft Family. It was a ten-day trip all over Israel teaching underprivileged kids how to play the sport of Lacrosse. I arrived in Tel Aviv where we drove to Ashekelon where the only Lacrosse only purposed field in the middle East is and we played a tournament with the Israeli kids. After the tournament concluded we went to several cities around Israel teaching kids who have never heard of the sport how to play, how to pass and catch, how to scoop GBS, and just how to have a good time in general. We did this for ten days and it was one of the best experiences of my entire life.
