Personal Statement

My goal is to push myself to my limits in the classroom and on the water. I thoroughly enjoy the process of bettering myself and doing what I once considered impossible. This is the cornerstone of what drives me to excel.

  • This 4 week program is structured for athletes who wish to achieve peak performance, to challenge themselves, and to race competitively at the highest level. Participants will train eight times per week in six days, in sweep and sculling boats. Emphasis will be placed on team culture, land workouts, squad meetings, race preparation, and film review. Athletes considering rowing in college will benefit from the exposure to workouts and competitive racing at the Canadian Henley.

  • Achieved 3rd place in the final heat, earning Avon's first medal in the men's 1V8+.

  • First year competing in the Connecticut Indoor Rowing Championships, and achieved 3rd place out of 19 competitors in my heat.

  • Climbing: I have been on a competitive climbing team for two years, and have left after the two years. I still climb and thoroughly enjoy it. I have learned and practice traditional climbing; a form of climbing rare for a high school student to practice.
