Personal Statement

I have been rowing for 3 years with Nereid Boat Club. I am the only student from Millburn High School who is on a rowing team. I have finished in the top 5 of all the races I have been in. I was put on the varsity team in only my second year at Nereid, out of 70 kids in the club. My erg scores constantly are in the top 10.

I have learned through rowing that the boat is only as fast as the slowest person in it. This insures the entire boat will work together in order to succeed. I am also a varsity debater in Public Forum. In this form of debate partners must work in sync, as a rowing team does. I consider this one of my strongest assets, cooperating with my teammates to achieve a single goal.

I see myself progressing in two areas 1) moving from a club team to being part of a college team 2) academically moving from a competitive high school to a competitive college. My goal is to keep pushing until I reach the finish line.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
