My name is Will Stoll, and I am now in my junior year at Ballard High School in Seattle. In the two and a half years I have been rowing with Green Lake Crew, I have fallen in love with the sport. It has transformed the way I think about most things. Rowing has changed my perspective and approach to school, nutrition, fitness and my work ethic in general, and I feel that crew has made me a better person. I’m also very grateful for the new friends and mentors it has brought into my life. I have always been competitive at heart, and I love the feeling of being side by side with another crew fighting stroke for stroke to the finish line.
I look forward to two more great years with Green Lake Crew, supporting my team and working hard to improve my strength and stroke and developing leadership skills as a more senior member of the crew.
In college, I am potentially interested in studying film, philosophy, and/or engineering, but I am keeping an open mind about my studies. It is important to me to find a school with a variety of academic opportunity and a strong and competitive rowing program, where I can continue to improve, and as my coach says, “Bring 100% of what I have to give every day.”
I would love to hear about your program, and I hope you reach out to connect.
Thank you.
-Will
