Soccer has been a big part of my life. Going into high school I knew making the soccer team would be my goal for the four years I was there. I always made sure my grades were up because I knew if I had bad grades I wouldn't be able to play on the team. Freshman year season came around and I was prepared to play for my high school. I made the varsity team and got to experience the way high school soccer was played. Sophmore year was a bit different. During a CIF match I was injured in my right knee, come to find out my ACL was torn. I had ACL reconstruction surgery and I didn't play the rest of that year along with my whole Junior year. The time I was out because of the injury, all I could think about was being able to play again. New found motivation was stuck inside me, I knew that once I was able to return to the sport I would dedicate my time and put in the effort I needed to come back and be an even better player. My time out wasn't wasted, I focused even more in school. I began to take AP classes and honors classes to try and give me a better chance for colleges to look at me academically besides just my ability in soccer. Now I'm in my Senior year, I am currently taking three college classes along with an AP class in my high school. Soccer season is coming up around the corner and I am excited to play and lead my high school team as Captain.
