As far back as I can remember I've been involved in sports. As the only girl in a house full of boys, we were always playing something. Whether it was tee-ball, basketball, football, volleyball, or soccer we were always trying to be the best. Eventually, I realized I loved to compete on the soccer field more than anywhere else and began to focus more of my time and energy on soccer. In 2020, I moved from playing recreation soccer to club ball and joined the ‘08 Girls Apple Valley Storm team. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic put a temporary end to my ability to compete on the field. During my time off, I learned to compete against myself and develop my skills. I focused on CrossFit and learned to enjoy training. I also learned to appreciate every minute I’m able to compete.
On the field I primarily play center back or defense but have played every position except for goalie. My favorite position is center back. I love challenging and winning a ball from other players and distributing the ball to the mids or forwards. On the defensive side, I love cutting a player off, turning the ball up field, and make an offensive run to support the forwards. I have great stamina, quick feet, I am explosive on the run, and display strength on and off the ball. I study my opponent and do my best to learn their tendencies to anticipate their next move. I am a starter for both my club and the Granite Hills High School varsity team. I also run Cross Country and was All-League for the Desert Sky League and play volleyball.
Off the field, I am a hard worker and good student. I take multiple honors classes and do my best to maintain a 4.0 grade point average. I apply the same work ethic I use on the field and in training to my schoolwork and personal goals. I want to be a collegiate athlete so I can play the sport I love while I work toward my educational and career goals. I am currently pursuing healthcare courses and am enrolled in the med core program at my high school. I enjoy sports therapy and anatomy. I look forward to achieving my goal of playing college soccer and obtaining a degree.
