Soccer has always been my passion since the first time I came in contact with a ball. Academics is also a priority for me, and I was able to handle and balance out being a student-athlete. As an American Citizen, I aspire to go to America for College and to play the sport that I love, Soccer. All my international experiences have not only taught me soccer lessons, but also character development and life lessons.
2016, Borneo Cup, was a true eye-opening experience. It was my first international tournament where I represented the Philippines, facing clubs from Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, and many more. I played all positions, from goalkeeper to winger. The following years, I continued to extend my international experience. 2017, Gothia Cup China, was my first international experience as a Kaya FC Elite player. I started and played all games as a goalkeeper and unfortunately got knocked out in the round of 16s. 2018, Phuket Cup, was the furthest I’ve reached internationally. I started most games, but got injured and lost in the finals after an amazing run. 2019 was the most influential year in terms of my Soccer experience. I was lucky enough to be one of a few players from Kaya FC to participate in the Europe trip. We had friendlies against teams like Zurich, where we won 3-0, and participated in the Munich Cup where we won 2nd in the plate. Later that year I travelled to Singapore to play in the SingaCup, where I started all games as a goalkeeper, but got injured and lost in the semis. This was where I learned to not give up and fight. We won many domestic tournaments like the back to back champions of the YFL, which is the biggest youth tournament in the Philippines.
In my school varsity team, I played as Center-Mid (both attacking and defending depending on tactics). I captained the team for 05-06, and was the top scorer for both teams 05-06 and 04-05. This made me experience high-level challenges in both midfield and keeper.
In grade school I received honors and good grades. In grade 9 I decided to go homeschool with an American curriculum to accompany my mother in her work in Singapore and also to focus on Soccer. Here I learned to be independent and how to manage time. I decided to go to Everest International Academy for grade 11 to further increase my academics, and for better holistic development.
This pandemic has taught me to truly understand myself and to spend more time with family. I continue to work hard and continue to reach my best self. I am a very versatile person in terms of soccer and school. I dream of becoming a pilot, an entrepreneur, or a businessman in the future. What makes me unique is my experience in many different situations, both school and soccer. I can easily adapt with any team and school. I always put more than 100% into things I truly enjoy doing, and I am willing to try something new.
