Personal Statement
My name is Malakai “Kai” Thomas and I am a 6 foot, 150 lb forward. I have been playing sports for as long as I can remember, and I would always be in a toss up between which sports I enjoyed the most. I would say that I am very athletic and I could pick up a sport faster than other kids. I have been going back and forth between soccer and basketball since the third grade and I finally decided I want to take soccer seriously. I started and had the most goals on my team every year for seven years straight. Fifth grade I decided to try out for my first club team and it was definitely a step up from rec league but I learned quickly. Throughout middle school I have been in soccer camps, playing other sports like football and volleyball, and working out with a personal trainer. My sophomore year was my first year playing with my school, and I took them from a zero win team to a winning year and a playoff run. I got the golden boot award in our home tournament and for the league as a sophomore. Early in my sophomore season, I got 3 hat tricks, in one week, scoring a total of 11 goals that week. I am very aggressive on the field and have a huge heart always trying my hardest, motivating my teammates, and am extremely competitive. I couldn’t do this without the support and love of my mom, dad, coaches, and teachers, and I am truly grateful for this God-given talent. I am so looking forward to what this next chapter of my life will bring.
