My name is Matt Bagley, and I play High School soccer at Trumbull High school in Trumbull, Connecticut. I also play club soccer for the Everton NPL 02's. My height is 5'10, and I weigh 140 pounds, but I will continue to grow. I will always give 110% on the field and in the classroom. On the field, my main strengths are my speed and my foot skills on the ball. I have a very strong left foot which is used to take defenders down the line and cross, take corner kicks, free kicks, and shots outside the 18 yard box. I am very fortunate to be coached by such great coaches that have coached at the highest collegiate levels. My club coach, Marty Walker is currently a part of the Yale staff, but has also coached other top Division 1 programs. From the time I was a young boy, I have wanted to play college soccer. Being part of a team is something that also means a lot to me. There are so many positives when it comes to being part of a team. The family environment and brotherhood that comes with being part of a team is such a great feeling. Some things that make me stand out from the rest are just the simple parts of being a good player. Not all of these things get noticed, but they do make a difference. When times are going bad I am the type of player to motivate others to play harder and to not give up. I'm always the player that understands what it takes to win, and if my teammates are not doing what they have to do to achieve this, I will constructively tell them what to work on. I am not scared to say what is on my mind. I will always work harder than the person next to me, because I want to be the best I can. I am looking for a college that makes me feel very comfortable, and where I grow into a strong young man. My parents have always pushed me to the limit, and have always explained to me that school and soccer are equally important. Hopefully I can find the college that best fits me for both a soccer player and student.
