William Crecca '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is William Crecca and swimming is my passion. As a kid I grew up with a pool in my back yard. During the summer I would spend so much time in the pool my parents would call me a fish. When I was about 8 years old I joined my first swim team. Swimming moved from a passion of mine to a lifestyle spending countless hours in the pool.

I have been a member of multiple swim teams, both club teams and  high school.  On every team I was blessed with wonderful teammates, some of which are are my closest friends today. I love bonding with new people through the sport, whether it be my teammates, or rivals from other teams.  I have no doubt that I will be very close with my teammates in college as well.

I have participated in many other swim events outside of the casual racing in the pool.  I have swam multiple open water races including a charity event near my home  town called Swim Across the Sound, that raises money for families affected by cancer. I feel that swimming is a community of great people and I love using the sport to better my community with such charity events.
