Hello, my name is Carson Franke, and I want to play soccer at the highest possible level. I would love to play collegiate soccer, and then have the opportunity to play professionally, and maybe even play for the US National Team one day.
What makes me different from most soccer players is my experience with the sport. I have spent most of my life playing futsal as a goalkeeper, and now I have completely transitioned into playing soccer full time. My development training with the best professional and collegiate goalkeeper coaches allowed me to stand out in the ODP tryouts as 1 of only 4 goalkeepers chosen to continue to play and practice with the ODP Pool training and play in State games if my club schedule allows.
I am the perfect fit as a college athlete because I have been able to juggle the rigorous scholastic and team demands playing Varsity and Travel soccer while also training with my goalkeeper coach who also coaches the Men's Soccer Team at Nova Southeastern University. I am currently taking honors classes in the Cambridge Program at Fort Lauderdale High School, which has earned me college credit in each of my high school years. I made the Varsity Team as a Freshman, starting goalkeeper as a Sophomore, all while being the lone goalkeeper for my travel team and getting world class weekly goalkeeper training. I made the decision to play up a year for the 2006 Davie United travel team to challenge me even further. I'm often referred to as the MVP after most of my travel games since I'm used to getting a lot of action. I chose to stay with the Davie United club and playing up a year for development instead of choosing a MLS Next team like my younger brother. I made this decision to play for my high school varsity soccer team, ODP and my future club team Lauderhill Lions where I am a guest player currently.
I'm an active volunteer in my church youth group, mentoring middle school students and volunteer teaching younger kids how to play soccer at Davie. I don't earn a paycheck but I know I'm making a difference giving back and doing something I love. I'm a Captain and leader on my current teams and I look forward to leading by example playing for your team when I graduate from high school.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity,
Carson Franke
