Hello, my name is Crosby Franke and I have played many sports starting at a young age however my favorite sport is soccer. I began playing soccer at age four and I was lucky enough to start playing futsal for the Florida Crushers at a young age being trained by the top international, professional and college coaches such as Ruy Da Silva the head coach for Florida National University Men's soccer team. At age eight I won my first national championship and from that I qualified to play in Barcelona for a world title. I continued to train and play futsal for the Florida Crushers and qualified in regional and national ID trials to make the USA Team. I played for the USYF International team for two straight years representing the USA playing against teams in Madrid, Spain and the following year in Lisbon, Portugal. While playing futsal, I also played soccer for the Davie United Sharks for many years under Coach Matt Watts who is also the Nova Southeastern University Men's Soccer coach. Coach Matt taught me how to become not only a defender but a leader as a Center Back on the team. I was chosen to be part of the InterMiami Discovery program and I am currently playing for the South Florida Futbol Academy MLS Next team. Recently my SFFA Team spent a week traveling to Madrid, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal to play against the following academy teams Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisboa, and Benfica as well as many local teams. I was also fortunate to be able to train with each of those professional clubs with their coaches and received certification from each club having gone through their training program and making an impact.
In regards to college I want you to know that my competitiveness is not only in soccer but it is also with my grades. My good grades led to being chosen for the Montessori Magnet program at Sunrise Middle School. I graduated with straight A's earning the Principal's Academic Award and making the honor roll each quarter, most of which were straight A's. I already took two high school level classes leading to a 4.5 GPA entering Fort Lauderdale High School where I plan to attend their Cambridge AICE program where I will graduate with college credits. I also volunteer and give back to my community. I am a mentor for at risk students at Bayview Elementary School volunteering in the morning before my own school begins. I know I make a difference as a mentor and I look forward to telling you specifically how I helped mentor a special foster student who turned his life around. I am very proud of him.
I'm a team player where I can play any position as needed on a team. My speed not only made me qualify for the track team as a 6th grader racing against 8th graders but on the soccer field my coaches have played me in the striker position as needed. I'm physical yet smart and I can make a difference on any team. I definitely want to pursue my goal of becoming a professional soccer player and look forward to being part of a school and team to support me along the way to achieving my dream.
