Soccer is my passion and I aspire to play and compete at an elite collegiate level. I believe I possess a unique combination of skill-sets and character traits that would make me a valued player for any college team.
I'm team Captain of my school’s (Hillel Community School) Boys Varsity Soccer team and have been a starter since my freshman year. I’ve been playing travel team/club soccer since the age of 8, most recently until the 2017-2018 season with CTC Bandits – Palau (formerly Ives Estates Thunder), an elite club team that has produced a number of top-ranked state and national teams.
My strengths as a soccer player include a strong understanding of the game combined with superior shooting, passing, touch, centering, and ball handling skills. I take the vast majority of my team’s set-pieces, including direct and indirect free kicks, penalty kicks and all corner kicks (from the right-side; I’m a lefty). I’ve most recently played Center Back and Left Back, although I also have significant experience playing at the center-mid and left-mid positions. As a defender, I have strong anticipation, tackling, clearing, headering and shielding skills. On offense, I provide accurate passing, quality crosses and “through balls”, powerful shooting and an ability to shape/bend my shots. I’m left-footed, although I have strong control, touch, power and accuracy with my right foot as well.
I’m a hard-working and dedicated student athlete, with a cumulative GPA of ~3.7/4.0 (most recent semester 4.1/4.0), currently taking mainly honors classes. I’m a good friend and lead a balanced life. I’m an excellent teammate, highly coachable and love the grind of practice. I consider myself a leader both on and off the field, although in a relatively quiet manner. I lead by example and am known as someone that leaves everything on the field at each practice, scrimmage and match.
