Rootsken Jean Baptiste '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rootsken Jean Baptiste and I was originally born on December  4, 2005, In Haiti Gonaives. I was raised with my mom and dad and my little brother in a small house back in my country. Growing up I was not so interested in soccer, instead I enjoyed watching my mom cook. When I turned 8 years old my mom decided to move to the united States to look for a better life for me and my little brother, it was heartbroken because we had to leave my dad behind . Moving to another country is like reading a new chapter of your book, so I started going to school and trying to fit in but at first everything was confusing but thankfully i found a friend that spoke that same language as me so he use to translate everything for me. So i started getting use to everything and one day we went to PE and I was playing soccer with my friends and they was really surprise to see how good i was and that's the day that i started thinking if i should start taking soccer seriously.Skip forward started taking soccer very seriously and i was in middle school at that time and i join my school soccer team, the coaches were so amazed by every single performance I had because of how little and talented i was, I ended the season playing 9, games scoring 15, goals 6, assists. Fast forward to my High School year I started Varsity as a Freshman and to be honest I was having a slow start in the first season playing 9, games 5, goals 3, assist. but It was great because I saw what i needed to improve on going to my Sophomore year. In my Sophomore year I got everything together and put all my heart to the season although I didn't get to play all the games. I played 8 games 13, goals 6, assist. My goal is to stay focused and play college soccer. I would love to play college soccer because I want to make it to the professional league 1 day and I think by staying focused and out of trouble will help me achieve that wonderful goal of mine.
