Personal Statement
Throughout my career in soccer I have been known to be the hardest working player on the field. My physical toughness and work ethic make me a dangerous player on defense and on offense. Defensively I am all over the place and I am a nightmare for offensive players. Offensively I am very comfortable with the ball at my feet and I am quick with my decision making. My natural athleticism and experience playing other sports (basketball, baseball, and football) has given me an enhanced ability to anticipate and make quicker decisions on the field. Throughout my years of soccer I have had superior grit, speed, and toughness than the other players. Virtually every game I've had to compete against someone taller than me - yet I consistently won contested headers and executed strong, hard tackles without making bad fouls that put my team in jeopardy. I have also been the youngest player on my ECNL team, but I still start every game and compete with guys a year or two older than me.
This high school season I was voted for 2nd team all region by the 6A coaches. I also received defensive MVP and Team MVP. This past season our ECNL team placed third place in our conference. I started every game playing left outside back. We let in the 3rd least amount of goals out of 12 teams by one goal. Even though I was the youngest player on our team my coach would keep me in during the hardest games and would occasionally put me on the left wing if we needed a goal. I am put up top because I am known for getting open and making plays that put our team in front of goal. We were the highest scoring team in our conference with 49 goals in 16 games.
