Thiago Carvalho '25 Recruiting Profile

“I have been practicing soccer since I was 4 years old, always with a spirit of competitiveness and leadership, which over time turned into titles and awards. Since I was little, I always played in higher age categories, which made me learn and evolve both as a person and a player. Despite being younger, I was always a leader within the team, helping my teammates on and off the field so they could feel confident to give their best. I understood that one player doesn't win alone and that together we could go further and achieve our goals. Lessons like these I carry into my lifestyle, always respecting and trying to help the people around me.

With performances in national and international competitions, in 2017 I became the top scorer in the regional soccer championship. In 2018, I played in the "Copa América," on loan, for one of the country's biggest teams (Paraná Clube), but we didn't achieve our goal. In 2019, playing in the state championship, we finished in 5th place, and I was elected the "Player of the Match" in the group stage. In 2021, playing three age categories above mine, we finished third in the state competition. In 2022, we became state champions, and I was elected as the top scorer and standout player of the championship. Finally, in 2023, with the school team, we finished second in the most important regional competition, with me being the top scorer in the tournament. I served as the captain of the team in all these competitions.

In the classroom, I always strive to achieve a good GPA and develop as a person. I participate in food collection campaigns, study groups, and extracurricular classes. In the beginning of the year,I graduated from Kumon (a math course) and qualified for the second phase of the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad (OBM). I also volunteered at my school in Brazil to help with pet food collection and always stayed after classes to assist with the collection. I always try to be an example to be followed wherever I go and strive to help people."
