I have been playing soccer since I was four years old. Over the years I have improved my skills and gained an interest in playing at the collegiate level. Growing up in a rural area I began working on my grandparents' farm when I was very young. Working along side my grandpa has allowed him to show me what hard work and perseverance can accomplish. I feel the lessons that I have learned will help me in achieving my goal of playing college soccer.
As a sophomore I earned a starting position on the varsity team and was chosen as one of the team captains. Our previous year's team graduated nine seniors, many of them four year starters. After losing so many valuable players, we were expected to have a rebuilding year. My teammates and I worked hard all summer to prove that notion wrong. With hard work and dedication we won a Conference Championship, Regional Championship and Sectional Championship. We became only the second team in school history to make it to Super Sectionals, falling one game shy of making the State Tournament. Winning a State Title is our goal for next year.
In the past I have primarily played outside back, both right and left sides as I have strong ball control and power with both feet. This year I was asked to play center back, replacing the Captain of our defense. I am not the typical size of a center back, but my coaches trusted me to play that position because of my soccer IQ and physical style of play.
Our defensive and team accomplishments from the 2023 season include:
I work hard year round on my soccer skills, participating in club and high school soccer, private training, and lifting in the weight room, which all contributes to my athleticism and drive to succeed. My drive to succeed has also helped me in the classroom. I study hard and maintain a high GPA, which I believe will help me excel someday in the college classroom and as an adult in the field of Agronomy.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the soccer field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all of my peers and people in my community to make my parents proud.
