Dear coaches, consider me for your program as my accomplishments may align with the expectations that you pursue in athletes.
I began playing soccer when I was four years old. I started with town soccer and then club soccer. Since 8th grade I have been part of my school's varsity team while continuing to play club soccer. My major experiences began through international camps in Europe, specifically in Germany and Bosnia where my heritage originates. As an 11 and 12 year old, I have played on the grounds of the famous Olympic Stadium in Berlin which hosts the German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin. I received professional level coaching , which helped with my development at a young age and learned to play with German and other European athletes. Our training field was next to academy players and the professional players which allowed me to get a first hand experience watching their day-today training as a young boy. During the Summer of 2022, I played in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, as part of the US Soccer Education Program and gained further experience: I was coached by former Yugoslavia national team and FK Sarajevo player Zijad Svrkic and learned from former FK Sarajevo and Washington Diplomats player Sakib Viteskic. During the camps, I played against the top professional academies in Bosnia - FK Sarajevo and FK Zeljeznicar. These have been exceptional learning experiences. Being able to speak 4 languages - english, german, spanish and bosnian - has enabled me to immerse into different soccer cultures and training styles and form international friendships abroad but also with players who came to visit Boston from France and Brazil.
In the fall season of 2022, my high school team won the city Boston city league championship. My high school coaches as well as club coaches have deemed me to be a hard worker and extremely coachable. I am to join the Valeo 2006 NAL team as of 2024 spring season.
Personally, on the pitch I want to be the player who stands out through skills and generating opportunities for creative plays while also being a respectful and uplifting leader to my teammates.
Academically, I go to one of the Exam schools in Boston, have had an honors roll achievement every term since 8th grade taking multiple AP and Honors classes. Being part of the Hinton Scholars AP Biology Program through Harvard Medical School has fueled my interest in a future medical career. My goal is to combine my love for soccer with my curiosity for science in college. Most recently I have also been admitted to the NSHSS as a recognition due to my academic achievements.
Soccer has always been my main sports, but I also enjoy skiing, swimming and mountain biking. I also have been taking piano lessons since age 6.
Thank you for reading through my statement, coaches, and do not hesitate to contact me.
