My name is Sean Desmarais and I believe I am a good candidate for your program because of my work ethic, coach-ability and athleticism. These qualities have set me apart and helped me grow as a player, person, and student. My coaches have always complimented my leadership skills, playing the game the right way and ability to turn my team around when things were not going our way, on and off the field. I strive to earn the respect of my coaches, my teammates and my opponents. I am always looking to improve so I am constantly trying to apply advice and lessons learned into my game. In addition to soccer I have also trained competitively in gymnastics so spending 4 hours a day working on my craft is routine for me. In terms of my athletics, my speed and ability to separate with ball control has always been one of my best weapons as well as my creativity and decision making. I believe on the field my versatility and ability to influence the game from every position make me a unique part of any team. Although I may not be the biggest player on the field I am particularly strong on the ball, and use of my assets to compete for and win 50/50 balls.
Academically I have taken honors classes both years of High School, and showed tremendous growth as the years went on. My work ethic is very helpful in school, and I plan to use it to continue having more and more success in the classroom. In addition I have begun practicing and preparing for the ACT and SATs. My early results show a track that should place me in the top 5% of scoring in those exams. I am particularly strong in Math and hope to be able to apply that skills to whatever academic field I pursue.
