I've been playing soccer since I was five years old and have played all positions. I have been playing full time goalkeeper since my U11 season and have enjoyed it. The pressure of being a goalkeeper doesn't phase me. While with the Canton Celtic team I not only participated in the additional goalkeeper training sessions that were offered but I was asked by the coach to be a mentor and help him with his younger players.
I currently play club soccer with Plymouth Reign (Plymouth, MI) U17 under coach Ryan Montague and play for Plymouth High School (also Plymouth, MI) under Glenn Ligouri. During both club and high school games I split time with another keeper; I'm the 2nd half closer because the coaches know they can count on me to finish the game strong. I am very vocal on the field at commanding my teammates and I can organize my defense well. My U16 coach, Zach Wilkos, has said that I'm good in the air and I'm a good shot-stopper. I want to play for a college team where I'll be able to compete for playing time.
Academics: I finished my freshman year with a 3.2 gpa while taking Honors Algebra II with Trig, Spanish III and Intro to Engineering Design (engineering STEM curriculum). In my sophomore year I'll be taking an AP US History class and Principals of Engineering. As you can see I'm interested in a engineering career and want to attend a school with a good engineering program because I think academics are very important.
I'm also a Grade 8 referee. I'll do center or AR duties and I average about 28 games per season. I've also refereed for the local Special Olympic games.
