Personal Statement
I am a very dedicated, versatile, player who loves soccer and was also a Kicker for my high school's varsity football team for their 2019 season. I started playing soccer at age 6 and playing high level soccer at age 9 and have played for 3 different clubs. Two of those teams I had led in both assists and in goals for 9 seasons as an attacking mid, left/right winger, and target and was also the assist leader for my ECNL team for the 2018-19 season. I love life and the outdoors and always try to have an upbeat, positive attitude, and to encourage everyone both on and off the field. I’m never hesitant about a challenge, whether it is on the field with a header or slide tackle and off the field, like wake boarding and water skiing for the first time this past summer. I love to score on volleys and long goals from well outside the 18 and am very comfortable doing so. I want to increase my level of play and enjoy challenging myself to by routinely training with current college and professional players at Aaron Byrd's Next Level Training. I like to set the bar high and want to contribute that to the success of my team. I loved being a hard working part of my high school varsity soccer team last year as we competed in the hardest D1 conference for our state - Michigan's KLAA West division. We went all the way through to the State Finals and placed 2nd, it was a great ride. I feel I have grown a lot on and off the field (as you can see through the interviews that I gave in the press section here). Also, in High school, I was 1 of only 3 sophomores in the state to make either the All-State 2nd or 3rd teams (Michigan also has a 4th team which is honorable mention), 1st team All-Conference, 1st team All-Division, Prep Athlete of the Week in May 2019, and 2019's Post-season Outstanding Player with 7 goals and 2 assists in 7 playoff games. For the ODP program, I love the diversity, experiences, skills, and everything else that I've been blessed to have gained through my first time trying out for the program. I was on the 2003 ODP Regional 2 team and played internationally in Costa Rica this past February 2019. In July, I again was invited and attended the Region 2 camp in 2019, and was named to the current 2002/2003 combined Regional Pool. I was invited to play in England in March 2020 as part of the '02/'03 Region 2 team but with the COVID-19 virus, that trip has been delayed until the Fall. I also was recently notified by ODP that due to the ever-changing COVID situation, they will again pull from the 2019-20 Regional Pool for this years upcoming 2020 Regional games in Boca Raton, so that is also a travel possibility for this November.
In college, I plan on majoring in Business (Finance, Management, Real Estate) and I want to keep playing at the collegiate level and beyond. As time is starting to fly by, I’m eagerly looking forward to attending a great college; not just to further my education and get a degree, but to add to my lifetime experiences, becoming a proud alumni, having an unbelievable connection with a soccer team (of what I truly believe will become my soccer sisterhood) that will be my family away from home as well as making lifelong connection through out the campus.
