Sports and athletics have always been an important part of my life and identity. Growing up, I loved going outside and playing baseball with my dad and brother and going to the park to play football with friends. Whether it was soccer, basketball, hockey, football, or any active sport, I wanted to play it. When I got to middle school, soccer became my passion and the sport that I dedicated most of my time to. I currently play for one of Minneapolis United's Academy '06 teams, which is a club I have been a part of for over 7 years. The strengths that I bring to the field are my athletic ability, game IQ, and determination. I am a natural leader, I was a captain on my team this year, and I love to help my peers improve and to be an active leader at practice and during games. I can play any position on the field, including midfield, wing, striker or defense, which demonstrates my versatility.
When Covid started, my passion for soccer and self-improvement increased. I started juggling, running, and lifting weights every day. I found that I enjoyed being disciplined and working hard. During this time, I unfortunately went through some serious injuries, but it helped me in the long run to build resilience and mental strength. When it comes to academics, I have always focused on learning as much as possible and achieving the most that I can in the classroom. I know how important it is to get good grades to give me multiple options for college, so education is one of my top priorities. Playing college soccer has been a dream of mine for many years, and I would be grateful for an opportunity to compete at that level. The atmosphere around the sport and life as a student athlete is something I can see myself really enjoying.
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile and read this statement.
