I have always loved soccer and it has always been a constant in my life. Ever since I was little, I would always be kicking the ball around the backyard, going to my dad’s games, or watching games on TV. As my dad has played a high level of soccer during and after college, he has taught me a majority of what I know. In middle school, I began to struggle with playing time and club level. I wasn’t excelling or performing to the level that I wanted or was expected of me. I had to learn that skill and talent make you good, but hard work and dedication make you great. A sudden change in mindset and position altered the path of my career. I realized that I didn’t just need to put in the effort during practices and games, but during the offseason and on my own.
As a player, I have very good passing ability and vision, coupled with good technical ability, touch,.and excellent tactical awareness. Defensively, I work hard and understand my role and where I need to be to break up play. I understand the need to be the best player, teammate, and leader I can be. Academically, in my senior year of high school, I hope to improve my GPA, participate in several clubs, and gain entry into multiple honor societies. In college, although I am currently undecided on a major, I hope to thrive with a diverse academic program that will allow me to find my future career path, grow as a person, build strong life-long relationships, and develop further as a player.
