Gregg Williams '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gregg Williams Jr., I am a senior at Gloucester Catholic High School. I have been a starting varsity player since the 9th grade. Earning a starting defender position on varsity after one week of summer practice was the highlight of my freshman year. It was a challenge. I was fortunate enough to be a part of an amazing program, with an outstanding team around me. Junior year, I became very sick the first month of school. I was diagnosed with viral meningitis. I experienced the greatest pain that I had ever felt. I was grateful to learn that I could fully recover, but I was devastated to miss time on the field. My first game back, we faced a tough opponent and I knew my team needed me. I fought through the fatigue and battled for as long as I could physically to assist my team in a win. I have learned the value of teamwork, sacrifice and commitment. My experiences on and off the field have allowed me to become a good, humble defender and has prepared me to excel as a student-athlete at the next level.

As a student-athlete, I value the educational aspect of my future in college. I am looking for a program that I can grow athletically as well as academically. I believe I have the talent to compete for a college team and the character, work-ethic and leadership skills to excel academically. As a two-sport athlete and captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
