Oliver Murphy '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a junior at Montclair High School - I am 5'11'' tall and weigh 160lbs. In February 2011 I was selected to attend the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Super Y National camp at the IMG campus in Florida. I was also selected for All-State, All-County and All-Conference as a junior and I have recently been appointed captain of the High School Varsity team for my upcoming senior year. Prior to playing for the Matchfit Academy I played for the pre-academy for nine months. With the exception of my current academy team, I have been selected captain for all the teams I have played for, thus illustrating my leadership capability and my drive to get the best out of my teamates. 

I have not decided on my intended major but I have an increasing interest in psychology and business. I would prefer a college on the east coast but I am open to a wide variety of colleges. I intend to play soccer at the highest level possible, but my next step is play at college in the hope of continuing to play the game that I love.

I am a competitve individual and will give everything in order to win. I understand that soccer is a team game and in order to be successful we must work as one unit. I take great pride in lifting the team and pushing everyone to play to their best. I thrive under a postive, encouraging environment and understand the importance of creating strong connections not just with my teamates but also with the coaching staff.

Central midfield is my preferred position.  I love having the ball at my feet and controling the game, creating opportunites to score - and I have repeatedly shown that I work hard not only in games but also at practice.
