Juan-Diego Castro '24 Recruiting Profile

Since 6 years old, I have been playing club soccer. Being from the Bronx and a Hispanic player, I have experienced a completely different world of soccer. The club I currently play on has been through a lot of history, and I have stayed with them for a consecutive 9 years. I feel true passion for soccer is that it's in my blood. I am a committed, hardworking, and smart player that has real value in my position as a leader in the defensive positions. I am able to observe and make quick decisions that have won me starter positions on one of the most competitive soccer teams in the state. 

In terms of academics, I can admit my deficiencies but also work hard to not give up on achieving my goals. And despite all of the hardships that I have gone through during my high school career and when it seemed easier to give up, I never once let go of my goals. 

One of the most resounding quotes that I have heard that applies to me the most is, "If you do not sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice"
