Omar Elkhon '27 Recruiting Profile

In the fall of 7th grade I wasn’t even a starter on my middle school team. That spring, during a game for my club, I nearly tore my ACL. Now I am the only freshman to be a starter in my entire high school, and I play in one of the highest levels of my club. My name is Omar Elkhon— my father got me into soccer when I was in fifth grade and I fell in love with the sport. In 6th grade the pandemic hit and I stopped playing or even exercising. During 7th grade, I tried out for my middle school team completely out of shape and just barely got accepted. I had almost no playing time because I wasn’t focused on the game. In the spring, I was playing a game for my club team, and nearly tore my ACL due to the fact I had such a weak body. I knew something had to change. I started to put in the work no one else would— I started a diet, and even started going to the gym. I made it onto the middle school team again in 8th grade, and this time I wasn’t the same player as before. I became the captain of our team and even won MVP. That year was the first year our school not only made it to the conference championship, but we even made the final. I kept pushing myself and now I play on one of the highest levels of my club, and am the only freshman in my entire high school to be a starter. I am looking forward to finding the right college for me, and I know I have what it takes to bring my game to the next level.
