I don't remember a time when soccer wasn't in my life! I followed my older brother out onto the field and have never left. Playing soccer makes me joyful, it is a part of who I am. I am grateful that this year I had the opportunity to be a part of three teams - my high school team, a classic level club team, and a community team. I am always working to improve my game. I am easy going and work well with others, but driven to win. I am known for making smart passes, being instrumental in moving the ball up the field, and can outrun most players. I am technical and strategic, as well as a good listener and a quick learner. I am quiet by nature, but over time I have learned to set those tendencies aside so that I can effectively communicate with teammates on the field. This has enhanced my ability to collaborate with others and has benefited my public speaking performance at school. From challenging seasons and team/coach dynamics, I learned that running away from problems is a mistake and that you should embrace your flaws and challenge yourself to improve whether it is academics or sports. When confounded by an obstacle, soccer has taught me to analyze the problem, make a meaningful plan, and stick with it. My goal is to maintain my 4.5 weighted GPA while continuing to take diverse honors and AP classes. I have an affinity for math and science. I haven't decided yet, but I am thinking about a major in finance or chemistry. I am currently looking into becoming a referee for local youth teams in my area.
