Dear Prospective Coach: My name is Andrew Gleek. I am a 6'0 150lb Soccer Player who’s passion for the game began at age 6 playing recreational soccer and in the back yard with my Dad and brothers. As long as I can remember I’ve dedicated myself to being the best student athlete I can be. My goal is to attend a diverse university where I can obtain a quality education and continue to play the sport that I love.
In my High School career, I have played a variety of positions based on team need but really find focus and enjoyment from playing outside back and wing. I have quick feet, can cross and kick with both my dominant right foot as well as my left. I also am able to process information quickly and am very coachable. I have a very high work rate on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball and feel my ability to play both forward and on defense is an asset regardless of where I am on the pitch.
Although my High School team is very competitive, I was still able to play for varsity this year. I also started for our JV Gold (A) team which ended the season 12-3-1 (W/D/L) and led the team in assists which I am very proud of. I really enjoy playing club soccer and for this season I will play at the ECNL RL level. I am a starting forward on that team and also supplement my training through the James Field Soccer Academy (time permitting)
I am working hard to improve my results in the classroom as well and am very focused on having over a 3.0 for my junior year.
Thank you for your consideration.
