Eliza Mercer '26 Recruiting Profile

I am interested in finding a school that provides me the opportunity to play golf at a competitive level and aligns with my academic interests.

I understand the rigor of being a competitive athlete who has to balance tournaments, practice, conditioning, studying, and volunteer work. Since I was seven years old I have been a dual-athlete in competitive golf and competitive dance. While both of these sports require practice, discipline, and effort, I managed my time well and put in the hours needed to be successful. I thrive on success from hard work and dedication. I have also managed to maintain a high GPA with honors-level courses. Volunteering is important to me and I have donated my time as an eLeader with the Girls Golf program and assisted the teachers at the dance studio with several workshops and classes. I am also involved in two student organizations at Lincoln High School.

I enjoy being part of a golf team. One of the most rewarding aspects of golf is the lasting friendships I have formed over the years with my competitors. The top competitive players from central Ohio have a mutual respect for one another, and we enjoy getting together during the pre-season and post-season.

I am thankful for those who have guided me through my training. Leigh Anderson, my swing coach pushed me at a young age to get into golf and continues to help me progress. My dance teachers have supported me and worked with me to develop strength and control of my movements. My middle school and high school coaches recognize my talent and have pushed me to realize my full potential.

I will commit to being a strong contributor on the team, and one who will work to excel academically.
