Hi there! My name is Richard (Mac) Kline and I appreciate you taking some of your time to check out and review my profile.
I am a dual sport student athlete from the Crestwood School District in northeastern Pennsylvania. I've been playing soccer since I was just 4 years old. I've participated and started on both recreational teams and travel/club teams for a majority of my youth, playing every position on the field to the best of my ability. I've played goalie, forward, on the wings, midfield...but defense is where I love and I specialize in. I just anchored and led the defense for Crestwood School District...who finished 2nd in our district championship match. We were projected to win ONE game coming into this season, but we shocked everyone to win our conference and contend for the district title. I also play lacrosse for Crestwood, where I am a starting midfielder.
What separated us, and me, from most other players/teams is that we/I play a very selfless style of play. I was voted a Team Captain for this season, where the other captains and I focused on lifting each other up through our style of play. Pass first, move the ball, be there for your team mates. We led by example and that led to both wins and an unforgettable season.
That's the style of play I grew up playing and believing in. The team wins when we win together. I'm extremely competitive and selfless in how I play any sport. I always focus on making the right play for the team, and not forcing anything for myself. I defend first, look to distribute, and then communicate for the betterment of the team. I have a great feel for the game, vision for the field, and anticipation for what may happen next. This helps me to create both opportunities for scoring in soccer and when I play lacrosse.
I will be graduating in 2024 and looking to start a path towards a degree in Physical Therapy. I would love to continue playing soccer and/or lacrosse for whichever university I choose...or that chooses me...going forward. I would love to play at the highest divisions and levels possible as I love a challenge. I believe that challenges are merely just opportunities to grow and continually improve myself.
My academic goals for this year are to finish my senior year with high honors and graduate near the top of my class. The Covid pandemic and the struggles of remote learning set me behind academically, but I've been continually improving myself quarter after quarter, year after year. I thrive in situations and environments when I'm around people and in an actual classroom setting. I'm currently carrying a 3.7 through the 1st quarter, and will be updating this profile each quarter of this year.
I would be happy to discuss any other topic, so if you have any questions...please do not hesitate to ask!
