My name is Allan Gutierrez. I am currently attending Central York High School in York, Pennsylvania. I am part of the 2019 recruiting class, making me a junior! This past season I was part of the Central York boy's varsity soccer team, winners of the York-Adams League and the first seed in our district. Previous to my time at Central, I attended Hudson High School in Hudson, Ohio. I was also a member of Hudson's varsity team my sophomore year. We were winners of the Suburban League, District champions, and lost in the Regional Semi-Final. My freshman year, I was part of Hudson's JVA team and had the opportunity to join the Varsity team in it's playoff run. Both Central York and Hudson are well respected in their areas. While not playing for the High School, I play for Magnum FC; This team focuses on playing in many showcase tournaments during the spring.
I have been playing soccer since I could walk and I officially began when I was 5 years old. My love for the game was introduced to me by both of my parents; My mom played soccer in high school and my dad grew up playing soccer in his native country, Colombia. I love being able to connect my physical abilities with my mental abilities through the sport. Soccer is a beautiful sport, that is played all over the world. I have been fortunate enough to play against people all over the globe. I participated in the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden, where I played against teams from Sweden, Norway, Finland, and England. I have also played soccer in Colombia with friends and family.
I personally believe that one of life's greatest gifts, is the gift of adversity. Adversity gives someone two options: Either give up or find a way to push through, adapt, and grow in every aspect of life. Many challenges have presented themselves in my short 17 years of life, but one my most recent challenges was my move from Ohio to Pennsylvania, in the summer between Sophomore and Junior year. Leaving friends, family, and an area I was familiar with was difficult. The week after my move, I was trying out for my school team, which I can proudly say I made the varsity team. Adapting to a new school was also difficult, but staying true to who I am and trusting in my faith has helped. I feel as if I have grown exponentially and I see life through a different glass. These life lessons will help me in my next transition into college and have equipped me to become a better person and player. I strive to be a positive role model on and off the pitch. i offer a player who is coachable and a player who does whatever he can to be the best version of himself.
