I have learned that hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard, both in the classroom and on the field. Hard work has allowed me to overcome obstacles on the field and in school. I have worked hard to overcome a double hamstring injury and eventually came back to win the Dutch Cup and the PK shoot out at camp. I have also worked hard to complete honors Algebra I before high school. I plan to bring this work ethic to college as I pursue a career in science or math while playing soccer as a student athlete. I believe that I can positively affect my team and my classmates by portraying a committed work ethic both on the field and in the classroom.
