- 2019 Highlights
Personal Statement
My name is Josh Boozer. I was fortunate to be exposed to many sports as a young child, including football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. I quickly realized that my favorite sport was soccer and at age 10, I began to play club soccer year-round. I was both a field player and a goalkeeper, however in the 7th grade I realized that the place I could benefit my team the most was at the keeper position. Since that time, the only position I have played is goalkeeper. I am very dedicated and passionate about soccer and my position. I gave up skateboarding the summer of 2018 because I did not want to take the chance of getting injured which would have my team at a disadvantage. I cannot imagine not playing soccer competitively when I am finished with high school and thus, I truly aspire to play at the collegiate level.
I am a team leader and captain for my club team. I take my position as keeper and captain very seriously. I always try to respect the game and my teammates and encourage others to do so as well. I play guitar in the worship band at my high school and am in the process of trying out for the worship band at my church.
CAK, the school I have attended since kindergarten, has rigorous academic standards and I know that I will be well prepared for college. I have been a volunteer junior camp counselor for 2 years at Camp Webb in Knoxville, and this past summer I was hired by Camp Webb to be an aftercare counselor. I plan on attending college for multiple reasons, including helping me grow my character as a man, gain further knowledge and develop skills so I will be able to provide for myself in the future, and to continue developing my soccer skills.
