Timothy Huffman '29 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Timothy Huffman, and I will make a great addition to any team I’m a part of. I play Defensive Midfielder (6) for Kings Hammer Murfreesboro, 2011 Boys Premier at Division 2. I’ve grown tremendously in my three years at KHM, becoming one of the best players in my age group.

When evaluating players to join your team, I feel my strengths on and off the field are:

• Endurance and Speed — I’m consistently on for the full 70 minutes (two 35-minute halves) while still running and sprinting until the very end of the game, no matter the score. I’ve competed in cross-country for three years and made the Tennessee State Championships the last two years, with a PR of 11:44 for two miles. I’m also running Track for my school this year in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m events.
• Awareness and Foot Skills — In my time as a Midfielder, I’ve developed a strong visual awareness all around the pitch. I also improved my passing and dribbling to strengthen and equalize both feet. My footwork and balance also benefit from more than six years of training in Taekwondo (currently Red Advanced Belt).
• Growth Mindset and Defensive Excellence — Throughout my five years of club soccer, I’ve prided myself on being an excellent defender (Center Back and Defensive Midfielder). I’ve recently gained experience as a Winger and Attacking Midfielder to grow my offensive mindset, both in scoring goals and making assists. I love to learn and expand my horizons, and I challenge myself by competing regularly in Chess tournaments and have a 1300+ ELO on the Chess.com app.

In college, I hope to play on a competitive soccer team at a school that offers a pathway to develop both as a student and an athlete. Although I’m open to learning about new career paths, the majors that interest me the most are Business, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Agriculture.
