My name is Christopher Patterson, I am a sophomore at Texas A&M San Antonio where I maintain a 3.0 GPA. My Freshman year I started every game for our NAIA soccer team in the Red River Athletic Conference. I have received a release to transfer from the athletic director.
I was a four-year varsity athlete for both soccer and cross country. I have played 14 years of years of competitive soccer and plan on continuing to play soccer throughout the next four years of college and beyond. I love the game and playing at a high level. What separates me most from other recruits and as my coaches will attest, I will out-work, out-hustle and out-run anyone whether it’s training, a scrimmage or a competitive game I give 100%, one-hundred percent of the time! I have been competing in cross country since seventh grade so I can continue to improve my fitness and cardio, even in the off-season. Cross country has allowed me to increase my level of fitness throughout the years while competing and it has even increased my speed and endurance on the soccer pitch. It's a lot of hard work but as all my coaches will affirm, I am very dedicated and strive to work hard to improve my game and help my teammates to achieve success on and off the field.
I love to train hard and compete. I also look forward to working with new players, coaches, and staff while learning, training and building new relationships with people from various backgrounds. I am also a very "coachable" player who can learn and adapt to new systems, ready to meet the needs and demands a coach requires of their players. I eagerly accept my coach's evaluation and direction. In addition to training hard to improve on the field, I equally approach my education with dedication and hard work to learn as much as possible while maintaining excellent grades. I have been an A/B Honor Roll student my entire life, with my junior year earning straight A’s taking honors classes, while concurrently competing in cross country, soccer and working as a referee for youth soccer games. My passion for soccer, along with my enthusiasm for education is the winning combination I intend on bringing with me to College as a student-athlete.
In conclusion, my goal for competing in college soccer is to continue to improve, help my team succeed, and learn to overcome the challenges I am to face in life and sports. The three majors I am considering are Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, and Film/Video. I am looking forward to playing soccer at the next level while pursuing my undergraduate degree. I am open to any locations at this time, but I have family in California, Washington and of course, Texas. I know it will be difficult to visit campuses during this COVID-19 situation, but I look forward to learning more about your program and how I can play a role in developing a winning culture while pursuing my education.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
