Sawyer Parks '25 Recruiting Profile

I am driven to compete.  Whether in the classroom or on the pitch I am there to win and I hate to lose.  There may be those who are smarter, stronger, or faster but no one will outwork me.  That is why I have over a 4.0 GPA and am a competitive soccer player in the ECNL. 

I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old and have lived and breathed it ever since.  It has fed and nurtured my need to compete.  It has also given me the opportunity to be part of a team and learn the value of playing for something greater than myself.  An extended family, holding each other accountable, working, growing, and winning together.

As a student-athlete, I have learned the value of discipline. Balancing academic coursework with the schedule of a competitive soccer athlete has taught me to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines consistently. I understand that success in both realms requires dedication and a strong work ethic and I am committed to giving my best effort in every aspect of my college experience.

To be successful in a sport that is constantly evolving, I know I must always learn and adapt.  I embrace the opportunity to grow and develop.  I am known for being coachable and able to receive and employ constructive feedback effectively.  Whether watching game films or joining extra practice, I always seek ways to improve my skills and contribute to the team's success. My ability to adapt to different coaching styles and strategies has proved to be a valuable asset.

Ultimately I believe in the importance of sportsmanship and respect. Whether we win or lose, I know the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and respecting my opponents, teammates, coaches, and officials. These values have not only helped me build strong relationships within my soccer community but have also shaped who I am as a person.
