Size has never been something that I could rely on as a player, so ever since I was 4 and just starting to kick a ball around, I have had to develop different skills to help me succeed as a player. Fitness has always been a very strong point for me, being able to run for the entire game and never needing to be subbed. My field awareness is very acute and I always have a sense of where my team is on the field and can predict where the ball will be forced to. My speed is what I rely on the most to help me standout from other players, quick acceleration paired with very quick feet help me get by defenders. I feel very comfortable in a foot race with a defender when a ball is played over the top and I feel that’s where I excel the most on the field. Making varsity as a freshman, was the first challenge playing against people that were a lot older and stronger than me, so I learned to use my speed and agility to my advantage against the big guys. In my sophomore year, I started every game for my team and we made it to the D1 Semi-Finals. My goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level, to work incredibly hard to keep playing the game I love, for as long as I can.
