Daniel Morales '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Daniel Morales, and I am a center-back starting for my school varsity soccer team as well as for NVSC (Northern Virginia Soccer Club). I am a devoted player with leadership characteristics, such as good communication, integrity, team player, and humility.  I have strong technical skills in possession and distributing from the back of the outfield. I am physically fit to play the entire match at full speed and strength. I have a high soccer IQ, tactical awareness, and field awareness. 

For my school varsity team, I have been granted the Defender Award of the Year during the last two seasons as well as MVP of the Valley Tournament 2021. During my freshman and sophomore years, my varsity team won the ODACS State Championship. In my junior year, my school made it to the finals.  During my last season with NVSC, in addition to starting and playing all games for the Championship Team, I was featured as a guest player for most games of the Premier Team playing as a starting center back. I have won awards such as Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament multiple times. 

Besides soccer, I enjoy playing basketball on my school varsity team. I also play the trumpet for my school orchestra and on the Small and Large Ensembles. I am also part of my school choir where we have won regional and state ODACS competitions.

It is my goal to continue my development as a soccer player in a strong and competitive college soccer team that has the right sports culture, and that values hard work, humility, integrity, and growth. It is also my goal to be part of a college institution that provides excellent education, and whose purpose is beyond developing good workers in society.

I pride myself on leading by example, through decision-making, a good vision of the game, good communication, composure in the back, and a desire to win the ball. I have proof to be a hard-working player, a leader on and outside the field, dedicated, and a fast learner. I seek opportunities to continue growing as well as support others' development.
