Andrew Morin '17 Recruiting Profile

I have been an athlete all my life - it's fundamental to my identity.   Soccer, rugby, skiing, free running - I hope to compete in collegiate soccer during all four years that I attend college.  

My hopes are to be part of a winning team, and to complete all of my academic courses with distinction.  

What makes me stand out from other recruits, is that I have been training as a goalkeeper since I was six years old. I have been the starting goalkeeper on every team with which I have played.  I have been coached by professional players Gerson Dos Santos and Stanley Nyzabya.

I have been able to incorporate the nimbleness of gymnastics (trampoline work) and free-running with the mental toughness of rugby and bring to the goalkeeping position an ability to own the box.  I am an active keeper that can direct a defense launch an offensive attack.  My defenders have confidence in playing the ball back to me because I can double as a center forward.  I play futsal and indoor to keep my skills sharp.

Attached to my profile is the evaluation from #1 Goalkeepers camp where they identified my leadership on the field and mental toughness as my leading traits.  My GAA is under 1 and I can't wait to play.
