Personal Statement
My name is Brady MacKinnon. I have been playing the game of soccer since the young age of three. I have played competitive soccer for the last five years. I have been the team Captain for four of the last five years. I have a great understanding of the game. I have played all positions on the field, which has earned me more playing time. I have a good vision of the field which gave me the ability to see plays develop. I have an excellent one touch technique. I am able to control the ball, dribble using both feet and make accurate passes. I am predominantly right foot dominant, however, I am able to shoot with either foot.
In addition to playing outdoor soccer in the Spring and Fall, I play indoor soccer during the Winter months. The extra time spent indoors has given me the ability to work on my skills, maintain ball control and work on accuracy. As a player for the U14 competitive club soccer team, I was the lead scorer. Due to my athletic ability, maturity and skills, I was asked to play on the U19 team for the remainder of the season. In doing so, I was able to learn new techniques and skills. With that I also scored in ta majority of the games I played. I became a certified Referee and Ref games from the U10 level up to the U14 level. As I played for the U16 competitive soccer team, I improved as a player to become a more well rounded player.
When I am not training or practicing, I donate my time by giving back to our community. I work with younger soccer players by helping them develop skills and prepare them to move up. I also volunteer within the soccer club by doing various jobs and also with the youth hockey club, which helps my younger brother.
My short term goals are to continue to develop my skills and to continue to make the varsity team better. I am currently a four year starting and the captain for the Baraboo Thunderbirds Varsity team. I have played the center defensive mid position for the last three years, and just currently moved to center back this year. Currently just received First Team All Conference as well.My long term goals are to be academically proficient, graduate in the top third of my class and go on to college and play Soccer.
