My name is Lucas Gafka, and I have been swimming since 2015. I’m in the 11th grade. My goal for swimming is make it to a division one school, or a school that has a coach and program that will challenge me, in and out of the pool. I want to achieve high level athletic achievements, and also want to leave with an academic profession and skillset. I am a hard working maintaining honors academically, whilst achieving Western National qualifying times in the pool. What makes me different from others? Well, I actually do what I say, I'm not just talk. I am a persistent and persevering athlete who will rise to a challenge, in fact, I like to be challenged. Constant improvement paired with my natural skill, helps me achieve success in whatever my endeavor is. I am willing to do what it takes to improve; I can learn from any coach, I will proactively work with my coach and team to identify areas of improvement, then do so, I will put in the time and effort not just required, but above and beyond. I know what it means to sacrifice, be it diet, social gathering, and much much more. I am a good team-mate helping support and push my fellow team mates as at in swimming or school as well, to help contribute and foster a positive environment. I look forward to speaking with you.
