Swim for the troo...Personal Statement
Swimming is my passion. I love long distance swimming the best. I started swimming competitively when I was 11 years old at the Northern Middlesex YMCA in Middletown, Connecticut under the leadership of Coach Brian Fazzino. I am a junior at Nathan Hale-Ray High School in Moodus, Connecticut. My high school does not have a swim team so I swim with the Valley Shore YMCA Marlins Swim Team in Westbrook, Connecticut under the leadership of Coach Pat Callahan. You can find my most recent race times at www.ctswim.org. I would like to swim for a university or college that offers degrees in Engineering, Math, or Computer Science. Swimming helps me focus on my school work and my life goals. I would like be an Olympic swimmer in the near future. I have had the opportunity to train with Michael Phelps and Coach Bob Bowman at NBAC in Maryland (2011-2013) and I attended the University of Texas Longhorn Swim Camp in Austin, Texas in June 2012. Since 2013, I have worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor at YMCA Camp Ingersoll in Portland Connecticut. I love teaching others how to swim and would like be a swim coach in the future.
