I have loved swimming since I started at the age of ten. Over the years my parents never needed to force me to practice. As a kid, the idea of beating my own time was important, but even more important to me was being the first to reach the wall. I wanted to win for my team. I have always naturally been extremely competitive. I hold myself to high standards. My goal has always been to swim at a University level. Other interests have helped develop my passion for swimming. At the age of fifteen I earned both my Eagle Scout and first degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. These extracurricular activity's have taught me to persevere and have grit.
