Personal Statement
I love to swim. I have done many sports and concentrated on a few, but I always seem to return to swimming. My love for the sport and my internal drive for success is the key to my future. I would welcome the opportunity to go to a great school and to do what I love.
I have always been told that I am a very coachable athlete. Throughout my training, whether it be for swimming or even triathlon training, I have always looked to my coaches for guidance. Their expertise has proved to be invaluable to my success. I truly enjoy making the changes that are advised and seeing my results. Sometimes the results aren't immediate, but I always know that after I give myself enough time to master the new skill or method, it will benefit me in the long run. I have trained on my own and with a team and I have found that both have been beneficial.
I have my own individual goals that I set out for myself, but at the same time, I am definitely a team player and find the team atmosphere to be inspiring and motivating.
Time management is obviously an issue with all student athletes. I feel that I have done a pretty good job in managing my training with a heavy course load. I may not be a straight "A" student, but I feel that learning is not always done in the classroom necessarily. I enjoy my AP and honors classes because I am interested in the subject matter and learning every day.
