I tried and tried multiple sports, but it wasn't until I started swimming did I find a sport I enjoyed and was good at. I began at the club level in 6th grade, and have been swimming ever since. In high school I discovered what it was like to be part of a team, and continued to work hard. I was able to swim both at the varsity and sophomore level my freshman year. I was recognized as a an MVP for my team my freshman year, and look forward to my sophomore year. My strongest events are the 50 free and 100 free. I have also had the opportunity to participate on relays both at the sophomore and varsity level.
My performance as a student is import to me as well. I am an honors student with a 4.4 weighed GPA. I am a student of the International Baccalaureate program at my high school. I take all honor courses, and am currently taking AP History. I have done volunteer work for a forestry program, and have completed a pre-engineering program last summer with University of Illinois at Chicago receiving recognition for leadership and civil engineering. I also play water polo for my high school team.
I would love the opportunity to continue to swim in college and be part of the team. I would continue to balance sports with academics, and aim to excel in both. I will continue to work to improve my skill level in swimming while maintaining my grade point average.
