I have been involved in athletics since the age of seven. Next to family, it has been the greatest constant in my life, always there, and always allowing me to learn from the efforts I have put into the sports I have been involved in. I started out by playing soccer recreationally, then playing for the local travel soccer club. In the fall of my sophomore year of high school, I found my passion for swimming while training with NCAP for the upcoming high school swim season. Immediately after my first high school swim season, I had found the sport I wanted to dedicate myself to, joining Machine Aquatics and beginning the year-round program on their Senior Elite team.
I am a very coachable and dedicated swimmer. I work hard year-round on my club team, six days a week. The biggest motivation I have is wanting to get to the next level, wanting to be a better person and better swimmer. I have taken this approach even in the summer where I have been a volunteer coach for my neighborhood swim team for the past two summers, focused on passing on the values of dedication, commitment, leadership, and teamwork to the younger kids that are just getting interested in the sport.
I have made tremendous progress in achieving nationally recognized time standards within the first year of swimming full-time, year round. I have qualified for Junior Championships this year, and qualified in the most events of anyone on my team. In only my second year on the LCHS varsity team, I qualified for the Class 4 State Championship in four events, making the finals in all four events.
During the school year, I studied hard to maintain my 4.0 GPA. Through my involvement in NJROTC, I have learned leadership skills and how important it is to be disciplined in my approach to education and sports, excelling in a team environment. NJROTC and swimming have taught me how important it is to be disciplined and achieve results. It takes discipline and dedication to be able to achieve success in the classroom and the pool at the same time. This is what I work hard for.
I want to attend a college that will challenge me academically and in the pool. I am open to all options and want to attend a college where I can succeed in the classroom and in the pool, at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to be a great companion and example to all the people I get to encounter in life.
