David Gallion '18 Recruiting Profile

I am highly competitive in everything I do,  but I love being in the water and competing hard whether it's water polo, competitive club swimming, or NVSL Summer swimming.  Everything I do is all out, and I'm known for being able to play three day water polo tournaments without leaving the pool.  I am starting to bloom in my junior year after suffering a major setback with a broken arm the first week of my sophomore year.  I was able to work hard and come back and make the NCSA Jr National qualifying time in 100 breast at Sectionals despite not being 100%.  I followed that up by making NCSA Jr National times in the 100 and 200 fly in PVS Senior Champs my Junior year and making a big impact in the relays for AAC.  It's very difficult to be a full-time 2 sport athlete, but I currently split my practice time between swimming and water polo since both are 11 month seasons.  Since I am not in a public high school with a swim team, I don't have the opportunity to race as many times and events as most swimmers, but I make the best of the opportunities I have.  Being homeschooled in a college type environment, I already know how to work and study independently, so I am more than prepared for college work. In fact, I will be dual enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College my senior year of high school.  I am still improving my technique and have a very high ceiling and am looking for an opportunity to reach it.
